Cambre Family
In 1860 Adolphe and Hortense Cambre purchased an apple orchard. The had immigrated from France in 1850 and came to Nauvoo to be part of the Icarian community. Adolphe during his liftime traveled the entire length of the Mississippi River and declared the spot just north of Nauvoo to be the most beautiful on the entire river. He construted a six room home in 1867 for his growing family and that home was lived in by four generations of the Cambre family.

Fowler Family
In 1979 the Majorie Cambre decided to sell the home. Lois and Relly Fowler lived nearby and had fond memories of picking apples at the farm. They fell in love with the property and purchased it with the intent of preserving the home. They placed the home on the National Register of Historic places and hosted an annual fall craft show and numerous family gatherings and events.

Today
After the Fowler’s passed away, their granddaughter Rebecca Williamson purchased the property. She opened it as a wedding venue in 2017 hosting an annual Memorial Day craft show to honor the memory of the craft shows her grandparents hosted every year.
